I think this programs syncs with Ancestry and/or FamilySearch (my trees are a bit different on each site).

My situation is that I use FamilySearch and Ancestry, though my membership on Ancestry is going to expire soon. This will likely vary depending on some factors for everyone, as well as their taste and price range. It's a small gesture but seriously, respect peoples' time & effort in helping you out. It's perfectly OK to ask for any info if you're looking for fresh leads, but you can help people to focus their efforts & look at the correct sources if you are more specific. Be clear & specific about what info you want help finding. Don't make people waste their time by duplicating work. Include as much known information as you can.
